Our Story
Perched on Baron’s View Estate high above Plettenberg Bay, the hotel commands a panorama that takes in the Robberg Peninsula curving into the Indian Ocean, the Outeniqua Mountains rising in the west, and the full sweep of the bay the Portuguese once called Bahia Formosa, the Bay of Beauty.
The clifftop position is not incidental. It is the whole idea.
By Design
Sky Villa did not happen by accident. It was designed, architecturally, deliberately, with the conviction that every element of a hotel should justify its place.
The result is a building that feels both monumental and intimate. Award-winning landscaped gardens lead into a sculpture gallery where bronze works by South African artists stand among the indigenous plants. The gallery does not end at the wall: it continues into the gardens, into the light, into the bay below.
Inside, the rooms are arranged so that every guest faces something worth waking up for. A sea line that changes colour by the hour, or a mountain wall that holds the morning mist until midday.
The Experience
Morning yoga on the open-air deck as the Indian Ocean catches the early light. Breakfast at Sky Restaurant, unhurried, well-sourced, uninterrupted. An afternoon at the spa, or a walk through the fynbos on green-flag trails that start at the gate.
A swim in the Sky Pool or the Zen Pool. A cocktail at Sky Bar as the light over Plett glimmers warmly at six o’clock. Dinner by prior reservation, the wine cellar open, the conversation easy.

Sky Villa is one of Plettenberg Bay’s most celebrated wedding venues.
